Welcome!
Spaying and neutering is the only humane solution to the pet overpopulation crisis!
Did you know:
• Pet overpopulation is the leading killer of dogs and cats in the United States.
• It costs U.S. taxpayers an estimated $2 billion each year to round up, house, kill, and dispose of homeless animals.
• Based on the present-day birthrate of cats and dogs, to have enough homes for every animal born, every human being in the United States would need to own 6 dogs and 9 cats; therefore a family of 4 would have to care for 24 dogs and 36 cats.
• An estimated 5 million cats and dogs are killed in shelters each year. That's one about every six and one half seconds.
• Spaying and neutering helps solve pet overpopulation. Millions of healthy, adoptable cats and dogs are destroyed each year because there aren't enough homes.
• For every animal that finds a caring loving home, there are thousands of others whose lives ends prematurely in our shelters statewide.
It is our hope and dream to create a more compassionate world for both animals and people. The primary need defined is a low or no cost spay and neuter program coupled with an outreach and education program teaching responsible pet ownership.
We reject the idea that the only way to control over-population of animals in Florida is to euthanize them. THIS IS A STATEWIDE PROBLEM and we need to work together to eliminate homeless pets. We must involve the entire state and every community in the solution. We believe that we can accomplish this by building programs based upon compassion and believing that together we will reduce the states euthanasia rate. The more educated the community becomes the more lives we will be able to save.
We have the blueprint for ending the pet overpopulation crisis in our state. Be part the of the solution and be a voice for those that can't speak and volunteer today or support us through a generous donation. Contact us at 888-SPAY-FLA (772-9352) to find out how you can be part of the solution.
