Broward County Animal Care and Adoption has teamed with local veterinary clinics to provide free spaying/neutering for the first 500 Pit Bulls and Pit Bull-mix dogs whose owners sign up for the surgery. The free spay/neuter services will be available to all residents in Broward County who own an American Pit Bull Terrier; American Staffordshire Terrier; Staffordshire Bull Terrier; American Bulldog, or any dog mixed with any of these breeds. (1) ASF's "Animal Birth Control" program focuses on preventing unwanted births and reducing the number of infant animals surrendered to the Shelter. The program provides vouchers good for a no-cost spay or neuter surgery to needy citizens.
